On the morning of October 10, Hu Chunhua, Secretary of the Party Committee of Guangdong Province, Miao Wei, Minister of Industry and Information Technology and Ma Xingrui, the Provincial Governor attended the 14th China International SME Fair (CISMEF) in Guangzhou, met with the participants at home and abroad and visited the exhibition hall.
The CISMEF, jointly sponsored by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the State Administration for Industry and Commerce, the Guangdong Provincial People’s Government, the Department of Small Business Development of South Africa and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization, has attracted 2,925 domestic and foreign exhibitors from over 30 countries and regions with 6,282 booths provided. Among them, the co-host South Africa sent 50 SME exhibitors and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization focused on displaying its achievements in poverty reduction, inclusive globalization and industrial development featuring environmental sustainability.
Hu Chunhua welcomed the participants and expressed gratitude for the great support provided by the joint sponsors on behalf of the provincial party committee and government. He said that Guangdong, as one of China’s major provinces in terms of economy and foreign trade and one of the world’s major manufacturing bases, is currently promoting structural reform of the supply side in depth, vigorously implementing the innovation-driven development strategy and speeding up the construction of an open new economic system in accordance with the important instructions of General Secretary Xi Jinping on the work in Guangdong. He hoped that all parties, with the platform of the CISMEF, may strengthen matchmaking contacts on trade and investment, education of science and technology and social humanity and further deepen exchanges and cooperation among SMEs on information, technology and talents to achieve win-win development.
Hu Chunhua also came to such booths as South Africa, Russia and Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, some provinces and autonomous regions, “Belt and Road” cooperation and exchange, cross-border electronic commerce, Maker in China and SMEs matchmaking to listen to the exhibitors’ introduction and learn about the matchmaking cooperation among SMEs.
On the evening of October 9, Miao Wei and Ma Xingrui attended the opening reception of the 14th CISMEF to welcome the guests from home and abroad.
Lindiwe Zulu, Minister of Department of Small Business Development of South Africa, Philippe Schottes, Managing Director of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization, Wang Jiangping, Deputy Director of the State Administration for Industry and Commerce, Zhang Feng, Chief Engineer of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, Liu Qiang, Vice President of the Bank of China, and the provincial level leaders Jiang Ling and Yuan Baocheng attended the relevant activities.
